Morton One Room School Historical Museum

What Will It Cost ?

Your visit to Morton One Room School Museum is FREE !

This program is conducted by a group of volunteers who donate their time and energies to provide this unique opportunity to any school class group that will furnish their own transportation to and from the Schoolhouse. There is ample parking at the Schoolhouse for a bus during the class day if that is needed.

The school class materials are provided for in a number of ways. Some are direct donations, others are purchased with funds that have been donated for that purpose or purchased with funds that have been raised from a series of yearly fund raisers.

It is our goal to operate the classes at the Morton One Room School Museum at no charge to the visiting schools. If a small donation is offered, we will accept it for use in purchasing materials for a future visitng class. No classes will be refused for a lack of funds!

In order to do this, a Schoolhouse was required !

The use of the Schoolhouse and Property have been made available from the SharonTownship Trustees. The Schoolhouse was restored largely by volunteers who have made use of donated funds for the purchase of material and some labor for phases of the building restoration deemed best done by professionals.

Donations for the Schoolhouse restoration were made by:
The Shelby Foundation
The Richland Foundation
Sharon Township Trustees
Local Civic Organizations
Private Business Owners
Private Citizens

We thank them all, as well as those whose names we may have overlooked !
